Project Overview

Description

HBM Engineering Group provided Phase II Engineering Services for the rehabilitation of the I-94 (Bishop Ford Freeway) corridor in IDOT District 1 — a critical commuter and freight corridor requiring coordinated roadway, structural, and drainage improvements with careful attention to staging, constructability, and interface control between adjacent contracts. HBM completed and submitted the Phase II South Contract and is continuing Phase II services for associated miscellaneous improvements under a future North Contract.

Scope of Work

  • Preparation of contract plans, specifications, estimates (PS&E), and supporting documentation for roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, electrical, and ITS improvements
  • Pavement patching and resurfacing of mainline lanes and ramps
  • Bridge deck overlays, joint repairs, and structural rehabilitation
  • Culvert rehabilitation and large-diameter storm sewer installation
  • Barrier wall repairs and drainage improvements
  • Lighting, signing, traffic signal modifications, and ITS elements
  • Maintenance of traffic staging and constructability coordination
  • Structure field visits to verify existing conditions and define rehabilitation limits
