HBM Wins IDOT PTB 213 Item 55 for Major Bridge Inspection Services

HBM Engineering Group, LLC, is proud to announce its selection as the Prime Consultant for IDOT PTB 213 Item 55: Various Phase I/II Projects (Major Bridge Inspection) with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Bureau of Bridges & Structures. Comprehensive Bridge Inspections Under NBIS and IDOT Standards

This project involves a range of engineering services centered on the routine inspection of major bridges across Illinois. Inspections will adhere to the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and IDOT’s Bridge Inspection Policy. These services include:

  • Routine Inspections
  • Nonredundant Steel Tension Member Inspections
  • Underwater (non-diving) Inspections
  • Element Level and Special Inspections

In addition, HBM will handle field investigations, potential training programs, and manage damage and load rating inspections for select projects. The complexity of these tasks underscores HBM’s extensive expertise in bridge inspection and engineering.

Key Project Responsibilities

As part of this contract, HBM Engineering Group will provide all necessary equipment for bridge inspections, including specialized tools to ensure accurate assessments. Traffic control may also be required to facilitate safe and efficient inspection processes. Additionally, the project may involve plan preparation for bridge repairs or rehabilitation, load capacity ratings for new or existing structures, and other engineering services as required.

The diverse scope of this contract covers projects of varying sizes, complexity, and timing, underscoring HBM’s capacity to handle large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
