Dr. Yujia Lu is a Civil Engineer in the Transportation Group at HBM Engineering Group, specializing in the design and analysis of roadways, highways, hydraulics, and drainage systems. Since joining HBM, Yujia has contributed to a range of transportation projects, including Phase I planning reports, traffic control and maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans, and detailed roadway design. His technical expertise and strong analytical skills help ensure projects meet client requirements and comply with applicable standards.
Prior to HBM, Yujia gained valuable experience at the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), where he worked on pavement performance studies and infrastructure maintenance strategies. His research and practical knowledge support effective decision-making and innovative design solutions in transportation engineering.
Yujia earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and holds a B.Sc. from Southwest Jiaotong University. His combination of advanced education and practical experience strengthens HBM’s commitment to delivering high-quality transportation infrastructure.
