Kurt Ordillas is a Civil Engineer in HBM Engineering Group’s Civil Engineering Department, specializing in the design of roadways, highways, hydraulics, and drainage systems. He plays an active role in developing Phase I planning reports, maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans, and other critical transportation infrastructure deliverables. Kurt’s strong analytical skills and hands-on approach enable him to contribute effectively to all phases of project development, ensuring compliance with design standards and client expectations.

Prior to joining HBM, Kurt earned his Ph.D. and M.Eng. in Transportation Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering. During his academic career, he worked as a Teaching Assistant performing material testing and concrete mix design. Additionally, he gained practical experience as an Engineering Technician Intern with the Illinois Department of Transportation District 1, assisting with construction inspection, quality assurance testing, and documentation of field operations. Kurt continues to grow his expertise by collaborating closely with senior engineers and applying technical rigor to transportation projects.
